The Lowcountry Area Agency on Aging (AAA) works under the guidance of the SC Department on Aging to provide assistance and services to eligible seniors.  The Lowcountry AAA identifies and prepares a plan to meet the needs of the senior population.

The AAA  staff work with federal, state, and local officials, service providers, volunteers, and the private sector to encourage new services. Lowcountry AAA staff members are dedicated to improving the lives of the senior populations. Our goal is to help keep older adults living safely and independently at home for as long as possible.

The Lowcountry AAA serves individuals 60 years of age or older in Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper counties. Eligibility for direct services provided by the AAA varies across programs and is dependent on funding availability.
If eligible for services, the AAA Assessment team will conduct a holistic in-home assessment on the client in order to provide comprehensive service options and supports to help best meet the needs of the client as a whole.
